These past weeks I've been searching for granny squares, hexagons, all and any shape that can make up a blanket. =)
My mother is finishing her current blanket and asked me to look around for more cool designs.
So check out what I found! Oh, and all patterns are available for free!!! =D
- Have everything you need at arm's reach
I keep my most used tools in this organizer box, that way I have all I need in one place.
- Grab small tools with a tweezer
I use an old tweezer to pick up needles, pins, hooks and other tools that are sometimes hard to pick up with just your fingers.
Oh wow! This is my first holiday season since BuddyRumi began and I never thought things would get so crazy! I heard about it, I read about it, but living it is a totally different thing!
So as you might have guessed by my little vent above, I've been swamped in crochet this month! The hook is practically a sixth finger by now. So because of this extra busyness this month I'm going to relax a bit in terms of posting as regularly on the blog, but every time I've got some news I'll pop in and let you know!
Today I bring you the pattern for Rudolph, the cutest reindeer ever!
Little crochet gifts for a warm Christmas!
When following one of my patterns, in the material section, you will see the yarn I used for that project. I don't give specific brands because they might not be available to you. I indicate the colour and also the yarn weight.
Yarn weight refers to its thickness. Using different types of yarn or hook can change the project significantly. Even though in amigurumi gauge isn't important (what's important is that you use a yarn, tension and hook that results in tight enough stitches that the stuffing doesn't show) I want you to achieve an end result that resembles mine (of course you can personalize it how ever you want).
So if a pattern asks for a medium weight or a light weight yarn, what does that mean? Do I mean aran, worsted, 8 ply, 9 ply... ? If you're not familiar with those terms or, like me, like simpler and more concrete measures keep reading!
These were originally made as a keychain for my mother who loves cats. She was looking for one, but didn't find one that she liked and so I decided to make her one =)
Quick useful tip for today:
Do you want to turn this mess...
Into this cuties?
These little fishes were made as a gift to a new member of the BuddyRumi family that is coming very soon! He is crazy about fish and is known for thinking about food in really awkward times =D
Can you guess to whom these little cuties are for?
